Digital prints - Printed image of an original piece
Original prints - One of a kind piece
Art therapy in early childhood was the catalyst that helped her find her passion. Mackenzy's parents fostered her creativity by offering continuous support. Mackenzy Vida is a multidisciplinary artist from Regina, Saskatchewan on Treaty 4 and graduate of the University of Regina's Media Arts and Performance program in Visual Arts with a minor in Creative Technologies.
To share your art is an act of vulnerability.
As an emerging artist, I'm grateful to have been featured in solo and group exhibitions for my drawing, printmaking and installation pieces in both local galleries and others across Canada. Still figuring it out as I go... thanks for stopping by.
Thanks to Angela Bailey for the sweet brand design and typography!
Below are commissions from the last year, I primarily use a combination of traditional drawing and digital drawing in my work.
Multimedia, ink, charcoal.
Working with gestural and expressive lines captures the emotional distress of anxiety that I experience. Portraying the physical manifestations and overwhelming feelings of compulsive worrying is a way for me to detach from these thoughts,
leaving them on the page. Using washes, ink, and layered drawing, aid in building the visual narrative.
While working with personal themes, I often choose to use androgynous figures to avoid centering myself. This allows the viewer to find themselves in the work. Hands are often used in my work to represent the human form without implications of gender.

During my undergrad, many hours were spent sketching and planning in the print studio. I take great joy in covering the walls with art like a collage.
Featuring traditional methods, washi paper, and more. Various editions, titles and descriptions can be found on each image. More to come.
All created with UV cured ink. My knowledge of graphic design and digital collage is beneficial for creating images to print. Learning the techniques of screen printing was regulated through trial and error.
Polymer plates made for the 100 yr old Chandler & Price Letterpress.
Site specific works + interactive installations. Art brings life into the space it occupies. Some works alter the spaces, while with others, the space informs the piece.
Past theatre works include acting with Globe Theatre School (early years to present) and exploring wardrobe design as an emerging designer with the Globe Theatre Sandbox Series. *More photos to come*
